Rascalz was born out of the need to deliver an exceptional Carnival experience in a fun filled environment at a price anyone could afford.

Before DC Carnival 2004 the masqueraders’ options were limited to playing in full costume or with the prospect of having to buy new clothes after playing mas’. These choices coupled with escalating prices and diminished experiences resulted in a reduction in the number of participating masqueraders.

With the introduction of Rascalz for Carnival 2004 the landscape of the Washington DC Carnival was forever changed. The masqueraders now had the opportunity for the first time in DC to jump on de road with top local as well as out of town dj’s, have drinks provided (non-alcoholic of course), receive goodie bags with Rascalz treats, apply body paint and party for 6+hours. A first for Washington DC Carnival.

Rascalz understands Carnival is in our soul, in the way we move, in our music, it’s our culture and an integral part of our lives. Our goal is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy playing mas’. For 2008 Rascalz will continue to strive to surpass our previous standards. Our presentation for 2008 is “Re-jouvert-nate (Rejuvenate)”.
